I assembled this desk in about 2 hours by myself with patience and reading the directions thoroughly. During the beginning steps of assembly, I recommend using the box it came in as a "second hand" if you will. I placed the desk upside down so the ledge of the box/foam allowed the back panel to be screwed in without any issue. This requires you to not mangle the box when you get it. I then left it in that place until it was absolutely necessary to turn the desk. My hand was sore from all of the screws, but not a big deal. I did however put the back piece (step 2) on backwards, and didn't realize until about step 16. No big deal, I was just unable to install one of the cams in the rear (seemed unneeded anyway.) Plenty sturdy, and as you can see from my pics, its holding much more than my computer. The usb hub is quite a bit more helpful than I thought it would be. Looks like a much more expensive desk....long term durability of the finish is yet to be reviewed - I've only had the desk for a day.

Awesome Desk, Terrible Finish Quality

I reviewed this desk when I purchased it just over two months ago. But I'm sorry to report that the finish on the desk is wearing away very quickly. Ironically it was the zebrawood finish that attracted me to this desk in the first place.

The finish is a laminate - basically a photographic sticker of the zebrawood that is glued to the wood, I believe melamine is the industry term. It is not a hard durable plastic laminate like formica (think kitchen counter tops).

In two months time my hand and mouse (with smooth teflon glider on the bottom) has worn off the finish (see photos).

I haven't used any chemicals on the desk other than a damp cloth, and my hands are always clean, so I am amazed that the finish wore out so quickly.

This great awesome desk has a horrible finish. I'm going to call my local Staples where I purchased the product, but according to their website they only offer a 14 day return policy on furniture.

I believe in being thorough so I have divided this comment into 2 parts. Order/Delivery, Assembly/Overall Review.

Order/Delivery: I purchased this item online through my paypay account. I loved the ease of the process and paying through my paypal meant i didnt have to go though my purse to find my card and all that jazz. I ordered on the 31st of March and my product was delieverd on the 3rd of April. My only con is that at the time of confirmation was given confirmation of day but not the time, however, delivery was made to my home address before 12:00p.m. The staples customer service called me to confirm that the movers were infront and they promptly had me sign for it and brought it in. It was definitely wider and heavier than i expected but that was the most wonderful thing about it. I knew my purchase was one that would last. :)

Assembly: After lessons learned from previous purchases, especially ones over the internet, I counted all parts and pieces before I started to assemble. All in all, it took an hour,forty-five minutes for us. Mainly because the pieces were heavy (its real wood people)and their are no words just diagrams and so to make sure we didn't mess up we took our time to look them over, making sure pieces were facing the right way and so fourth. Ultimate Pro. Each step was numbered and each of the hardwares (i.e. nuts, bolts, glue, etc.) were numbered and labled to go with each step. What a relief, not just a bunch of plastic bags full of material.

Fantastic product, you feel smart just for purchaseing. Im such a happy camper.

    This desk was fairly inexpensive. Seems solid. It had some decorative "flanges" to install that looked sort of cheap so I left them off and am happy with the end result. The keyboard pull out could operate more smoothly but over all I'm satisied...

          I own this desk and I'd like to plug the USB port into a normal outlet. When I attempt to plug the USB cable into my computer my computer disables it saying it draws too much power. There is a place for an AC adapter to be plugged in but I can't find any documentation on what voltage it requires. Do you know?

            One option you can utilize is an AC USB Port powered by an outlet, for example in the referenced link you can find a device that will plug into a home outlet to provide power and then you can properly power your USB Hub from a stronger and more reliable power source.
