I got a new desktop and all of a sudden I was going through batteries like crazy with the new wireless optical mouse. I noticed the last time I received a warning to change batteries it indicated that mirrored or black surfaces should be avoided as they require the internals to work just that bit harder, I've had a similar ergo-pad in black for years and this is a very good replacement. The only thing I would change on the design would be to make it fully rounded, when using Illustrator or Photo-Shop, when I get towards the end of a design/edit, it seems it needs just that little more left/right movement, especially when using bezier curves.

I bought a new computer for my wife. She had an very old mouse pad. My mouse pad had a gel filled wrist support but was old too. We purchased two new wrist support from Staples. She lakes it and it is better for the wireless optical moust.

        The gel pad is not consistently dense. It is basically a bar of gel encased in a silver pad (where you rest your wrist)...attached to a flat mouse pad. There is a pocket of lesser density in the middle where you rest your wrist. Would like it much better if the gel pad was rounded and not concave. More comfortable than nothing but not as good as I hoped.
