Pleasantly surprised! I was looking to replace the old standard black metal 2-hole punch [...], so decided to give it a try. I am impressed with the superior design features which make hole punching much easier and less stressful on the mechanism itself. Instead of a horizontal metal rod pushing down a vertical metal rod (mine broke after many years of use), there are horizontal pins through the vertical pins which are operated by the lever. It took a bit of getting used to placing the paper right and pushing on the back instead of the front, but it works like a charm!

Aligning holes between left & right margins is pretty good as there is a slide guide rule for 8.5x11 size paper, BUT, No guide for aligning holes to Top Margin which results in slanted hole punch that makes paper lie askew when placed in binder rings.
Comments about Staples One-Touch™ 2-Hole Punch, 28 Sheet Capacity:
The fact that the hole punchers are at the front is inconvenient because it interferes with other items that must be stored on desktop by having the ruler bar extending on the front. Also - pushing down from the back takes a different sort of leverage than pushing handle down from front. We have limited desk space and must include many other office supplies in the same proximity. Having the hole punches in the front of the apparatus requires we rearrange to accommodate it and that has also been inconvenient. Hole puncher IS very sharp and capable though when one can get a good angle on it.
The paper guide is adjustable on the Staples® One-Touch 2-Hole Punch, 28 Sheet Capacity. The holes are not.

Q:
I have an 8.5 x11 sheet of paper folded in HALF I want to punch two holes in the FOLD of the paper to run a ribbon thru and tie can I do this with this two hole punch? I'm making a wedding program.
Yes, you can do that with this two-hole punch. It has a 28 page capacity, so your paper folded in half would effectively be 2 pages, which would be easily handled by this product.

Q:
How do I open the chip tray? I do see the word "open" at the end of the hole punch - do I pull straight out, down?? Because it is not working for me. TY
To open the chip tray on the Staples One Touch 28-Sheet 2 Hole Punch it is best to have the handle locked into place. This is to give leverage because you will need to pull on the handle and the back where it says "open." Pulling these two parts away from each other (like opening a book) will allow the bottom to open up and the hole punch to be emptied out.

Q:
Is this the right hole punch to match the fastener item #103762?? This would be 2 3/4 not 2 7/16". Please confirm this. Thanks
The distance between the holes is 2-7/16” and the distance can not be adjusted.

A:
I don't have any trouble using the acco binders using this hole punch. Usually the measurements given are to the center of the hole, so there is always a little play and the binders obviously bend, so they work just fine.

Q:
What is the distance between the holes? Can this distance be adjusted? (Doesn't look like it.)
