Hi, I am Aloha Christine--I would like to make a few notes to my original review, from a few years ago. I am hoping this review is seen by Staples and the makers of the Optiflow pen series. (see my original review below) I LOVE this pen still, but have had to find new alternatives when using it in my watercolor paints. I discovered that it was NOT WATERPROOF. How disappointing this was to learn. I had to go and get some permanent pens, which I do not love the flow of, but which serve their purpose. I will attach a watercolor fish to this, so you can see how the black ink smudged with the watercolor paints I did. It was at this time I discovered optiflows non-permanency. Sad. PLEASE make it permanent Staples, so I can swith back to using the pen I really do love---the flow to the optiflow is amazing...but this flaw can't be overlooked. P.S. It would still be great if you don't plan to get it wet, or transfer you work into a digital design for further photoshop-type alteration. Plus, this ink stays wet for awhile. So, don't use when signing credit slips. And if used for writing a letter don't run your hand over it, it will smear!!

I'm an artist, and I love this pen. I got it for my husband to teach art to his students, but ended up stealing them all back when his lesson unit was finished. The ink runs beautifully. I thought I'd have prefered extra-fine point, but was really amazed at how great this one works. I also like to write with it in general. I don't know what the person was talking about the pen caps breaking. Seem fine to me. though I didn't store mine in a pocket on my shirt.

These pens are amazing! I was a skeptic at first because I despise "wet ink" pens and fine point. This is amazing. It NEVER smears and never ghosts! I can't believe it's so inexpensive and Staples brand!! We have tried pens up to $40 a piece and nothing compares to this pack of a dozen for less than $7.

It's the only pen I found that writes well with any type of paper we use at work. I tried pens that cost more and still would not perform the way this pen can. No streaks, write smoothly.

It's weird to review a pen, but this is one of the best pens our office has ever used. We are a law office and sign a lot of papers and our clients are always walking off with these. I have had problems with the cap breaking, but it really is not an issue.

We scan all of our documents and never have any issues with signatures not showing up with these.

Didn't think I would like the look of the ink on paper and although it does make that typical scratchy noise of pens in this category, the way it makes my writing look on paper far outweighs that noise. It doesn't smear either.
