These plates are perfect for dinner parties, everyday use or for the breakroom. They're sturdy and they don't leak. We switched to the "bargain brand" at one point and realized that we were using 2-3 of the bargain plates per use to try to get the same feel. We weren't really saving any money in the end and we prefer these anyway...so we switched back!

Good plates, poor price
I would never normally pay this much for plates, however it was the only thing in the store I needed and I had rewards to spend.

Comments about Staples® Paper Plates, 8 1/2", Design Pattern, 125/Pack:
I have been buying these paper plates for quite some time and have always been satified, but the last time I have purchased them they have changed, and I do not think for the better. They are now deeper but smaller which I do not like, because they do not fit in the paper plate bamboo holders, and I am not happy.

Q:
I can buy Dixie Brand soak proof 9" plates all day long for around $4-5 a pack with anywhere from 100-125 plates in a pack. Why are your plates so expensive?
While the plates are coated which makes them stronger and more resistant to liquid/grease (than a paper plate with no coating), we do not claim that over a period of time liquid would not soak through.

A:
We use these Staples paper plates for office parties which sometimes go on for 3 or 4 hours. We have catered food with sauces and have never had a problem even when the plates sit for a while before the cleaning crew comes along the plates are still dry underneath.
