We use these red "dots" to mark the older food items in our kitchen which need to be used ahead of other newer items. They stick well in the pantry, in the refrigerator, and even in the freezer.
What's not so great is that they are a bit too small, and somewhat difficult to transfer from the packaging to the food items. A bit larger, maybe .3 or .35 inches would be better.
