It is a wonderful product, the tilt it has to see the numbers, the big numbers, the durable plastic, and the solar with the back up battery. I wish staples would continue to make them in the bright cheerful colors as they were when I bought mine. I have a friend that has searched the stores, internet to find the same calculator with a different color other than black, and there were none avaliable. Staples please take note of this many people love the calculator design, the size, durablity and etc-but we want colors (smile)

This is a run-of-the-mill regular calculator, I don't use it for much; just some minor calculations a few times a day. I bought it to replace a similar calculator (it was a different brand). Most things about it seem fine, it looks ok, etc. My only issue is it really requires you to push the buttons hard or it doesn't register. For me, this results in constantly having to start calculations over because buttons don't register and it also makes quick typing much harder. I usually do my calculations twice now because the room for error is now much greater because of the force required to push the buttons.

          I bought it to reconcile bank and credit card statements. It has a display that I can read easily. The buttons are spaced far enough apart for my clumsy fingers. And it does not have so many options that I get confused. I liked it so well I got one for my desk at work, and for my husband to have at his work.

                The SPL-230 does not have a 4th root button. The only way to do 4th root is to square root the answer of your square root.
