This Staples calculator has an adjustable display that is large enough to read up to twelve numbers at one time. It is solar powered so there are no batteries, cords, or plugs to worry about. It is small and lightweight enough to carry with you anywhere and has tax and business functions for home and workplace users.

Large Display
The display of the Staples SPL-290 desktop calculator is large and easy to see, even if you are a short distance away. It goes all the way to twelve digits, so even complicated equations get an accurate result. Staples also makes a smaller eight-digit calculator with similar functions in case you want a smaller display.

Functions

It feels cheap, and does not work well unless you operate very slowly! If you press 2 buttons too close in succession it may skip the second. I used it for 3 days, then bought another, cheaper, Canon that I can press keys on as fast as I want.

            I wanted to impress my boss for me and for Staples. I spend, per our profit margin, a good percentage at your store. As I threw away the box I will toss it and replace it, but I learned my lesson and will keep box for a while next time.

                • Press the TAX+ button
                • The display will show “RATE TAX% 5”
                • Once set you can then perform calculations like what is the total price and tax of $200 plus 5% tax
                o Press ON/C/CE button
                o Enter 200
                o Press the TAX+ button
                o The display will show the total price “TAX+ 210”
                o Press the TAX+ button again
                o The display will show the tax amount “TAX 10”
                • Or the price after tax is $58.5, what is the pre-tax price and tax amount:
