    I went to my local staples hoping to find the Apollo version of this pointer, but this was all that they had, so I went with this. It didn't come with batteries, so I couldn't use it just yet. I had use the 9v battery hack to get some AAAA batteries of my own. They rattled in the battery compartment, so I had to resort to using one of the metal connector tabs to try to make it snug. It worked at one point, but the other times the batteries got REALLY hot, and I had to take them out. When it did work though, without the batteries getting hot, I was amazed that it actually pointed straight, and it produced a nice clean dot. I need to go to someplace like batteries plus to buy some AAAA batteries. Overall, a fantastic pointer.

    packaging does NOT indicate batteries NOT included. Also the push button is somewhat touchy". I think it requires a little more pressure to push than what I woudl want to use in a major presentation.

    Last one of exact model lasted 2 years. Better quality than less expensive laser pointers. No apparent way to work on this once goes bad. Last unit likely just needed cleaning of contacts. Sometimes on my job, would like to have a light on the laser also, as trying to read small numbers on a dial.

    Watch out for those AAAA batteries. The pointer comes without batteries and they are not readily available. Can be ordered online but to design the small diameter barrel these unusual batteries were necessary.
