Good buy & perfomance, best price point

I looked around and was horrified at having to pay $3 (or more) per roll, for packing tape. I had been using some 3M / Scotch I had for years and finally that pile ran out. Wrapping packages for online auctions is the primary function in out house. I noticed it's not as thick or as sticky as the 3M/Scotch brand (which Staples sells too), but at far less that 1/2 the price per yard, I could easily use twice as much and still save money. In fact I do not use more than I did, as the 3M is actually overkill. This does fine, and I found the double size rolls were the best price point value, compared to every other choice in Staples - including all the other online sources I looked at. Even cheaper online sources ended up being more per roll than Staples once you factor in shpping costs. I estimate this as being about 3/4 as sticky as the 3M heavy duty tape (again fine for 99% of uses). If I had both types of tape I think I would use 20 rolls of this tape before I used one roll of the heavy duty 3M tape.

Even though I purchased this item on sale at a decent price I use it primarily to tape light weight boxes. I'd hesitate to use it for shipping anything thru the USPS because it wouldn't stand-up or hold up to the rigorous handling. I'd still buy again but for the specific intentions to use as stated. It has its' limitations but will do well for light weight uses.

            we used this for packing boxes - after using 2 rolls we checked on the boxes a few days later and discovered that all the tape had lifted off and all the boxes were falling open due to this. tape fail. (staples has given us a credit for this issue)

            I wish Staples had a stronger tape that sells in boxes of 36 or more. It would meet out need in packing food boxes at our local food pantry. The tape Quality seems to have decreased in the last year or so and I need to look for a better quality for my next large purcase which might mean I need to shop elsewhere.

            This is among the best packaging tapes I've used. It has a sufficiently thick substrate, Staples uses excellent quality adhesive, and each millimeter of the tape's base has sufficient adhesive to stay affixed to paper, cardboard, plastics, wood, and metal. It's more like a clear, non-woven duct tape that one can use for packaging, affixing one object to another, or simply for holding a collection of items together. It's an excellent product.
