This is a very comfortable chair but after just putting it together I've realized this chair is not meant for short people. I'm 6' with a 32 inch inseam and on the lowest height adjustment my feet just rest on the floor. Another thing is due to the seat design your legs are forced to the sides due to the hump at the front middle of the seat so watch out for that if the area of your desk for your legs to go is not very wide. One last thing and maybe it's just mine but when rolling this thing around the base spins like a UFO not sure why.

I bought this chair to replace one of staples own models that I had for seven years, And that chair was only $69.00. the only problem with it was the rollers and there brackets broke. So my wife bought me this chair two years ago thinking that if she spent more money [$] she would get a better product, I find it hard to believe that this is real leather because it is cracking all over the place the arms are the worst. But I have never seen real leather do this before. I am not very happy with this chair at all, So it looks like I will be buying another one but not sure of where I will be buying my next. If staples is going to carry this type of cheap chair then they need to take a second look at there customers, I have been using Staples for years now for all of my office needs. I would of taken the chair back to them but I have been laid up with leg surgery and I haven't been able to walk for the last seven years.
Comments about Staples Stanmore Top Grain Leather Executive High-Back Chair, Black:
It's not a $2000 managers chair, but leather, good lumbar support, padding not too soft not too hard, under $300 a good value and looks good. I'm 6' 4" and this chair is great. The seat high and deep enough for my 34 inch legs, the back is just the right height. It seems to be sturdy enough for my 230 lb frame and rolls smoothly on the hardwood floors. I would buy it again if I needed to.

Found this chair to be a bargain - it was $100 off the regular price. Not sure I would have forked out another $100, but sure glad it was on sale the day I was shopping.

Within a couple of months of owning this chair (I have had it for less than a year), silver paint started flaking off of it. The seat lowers itself for no apparent reason. At the end of the day my tailbone is sore. I have had cheap office chairs that were more comfortable and lasted longer than this.

I am not only satisfied with the quality of the (2) chairs themselves, but that I have a Staples Store close to home here in Tarpon Springs, Fl. for any/all supplies. Thanks very much to the General Manager, Rob! Continued success at your fine store.

I have only had this chair for 4 months now and it has begun to act on it's own. The hydraulic will not stay up. No matter what you do, you end up on the floor and there is no lock to keep it where you put it. And the back does not adjust so that you are not laying down. I need support and this chair does not provide it. I was thinking about taking it back, but my Staples receipt only gives 14 days to return furniture. I'll have to check with the manufacturer. Grrrr This chair is too expensive to be so faulty.

Q:
How do I get the back of this seat to come forward more so I can sit completely upright on this chair?
For more lumbar support turn the knob on the right side of the seat back towards the arrow labeled “moreâ€. For tilt tension adjustment grasp the round handle under the right front side of the seat, turn the round handle frontward.

The tilt lockout locks the chair in the upright position. Pulling the handle all the way out allows the chair to tilt. Pushing the handle in locks the chair in the fully upright position. Q:
I just bought this product and realized the warning label on it stating this product contains materials known to cause birth defects; Are they refering only to led soldering or is there another material?
The warning labels on the Staples Stanmore Top Grain Leather Executive High-Back Chair are required to meet CA's Prop 65 law. It refers to the lead solder and some components of the foam. These all meet federal safety standards, the CA law is stricter. In CA almost every product sold in the state requires some type of Prop 65 warning.

Is this 100% leather? Including the arm-chair padding?
There is no indication the this is 100% leather, but it is top grain leather. The arms are also covered with the leather,
