Is the smaller brochure holder attached to the bigger holder?
Is the stand removable so if I were to mount it, it would lay flat?
-If not, can you recommend a sign holder that someone can hold up and a stand wouldn't get in the way? Would need to hold an 8.5''x11in'' standard piece of paper. The options you have for sign holders that are wall mounters have the silver mounting screws and I would be using this as a hand held sign protector.

Staples Superior Image Sign Holder does come with two attached pieces; one for magazines and one for brochures. The stand is not removable. For a hand held sign protector you may wish to consideer a report cover or sheet protector. To answer two questions in one, the product is sealed on three sides the sign goes in one side and the brochure in the other. The product also has a stand in the back for it to stand upright therefore, it does not lie flat.

Need 8x10 - Does this frame show both front and back?

I apologize; the Staples Superior Image sign holder is 8.5" x 11", it is not available in 8" x 10". The backing is clear, but there is a stand coming out of the back.
You may be interested in item 665596, a Staples stand-up literature holder. However, this item is 8.5" x 11" too. To view, click:http://www.staples.com/Staples-Vertical-Stand-Up-Sign-Holder-11-x-8-1-2/product_665596
