It's OK

I've had it with flimsy inexpensive filing cabinets!!! This is an entry level commercial grade cabinet without a lock (a similar cabinet with a lock costs a good deal more). I bought two 2-drawer cabinets to support a granite desk top from the local granite countertop store. Only time will tell how the cabinets hold up.

I bought 2 of these and then purchased a six foot counter top to set up as a desk. This works well in my laundry room. I have plenty of space for folding clothes plus file storage.

I didn't know until I uncreated the filing cabinet and started to load it that the inside was raw metal, not painted, and it did not include any holders for the file folders (they call these file follower). Who would want a filing cabinet without a means to hold up the folders! On top of that, the local store doesn't even carry the file followers so now we have to place another order. Plus, the file followers are just a bent piece of metal instead of an easily adjustable follower like the Hon cabinets. I was very disappointed in Staples for making the file followers an option and for using such a cheap follower. This is the last Staples filing cabinet I'll buy and I'll be less likely to purchase anything that is a Staples brand.

  Yes, the drawers on this file cabinet will open all the way with full extension. The dimensions on it are 28 3/4"H x 15"W x 25"D.

i need to order two of these cabinets and the locks that can be purchased to go with the file cabinets. can i have the locks keyed the same so we only have to use one key for both. or is this not possible???

I am looking for a file cabinet that has the movable plate that can be easily adjusted to hold the files up. I do not want to use hanging files. I do not like file cabinets that have just a wire bar to hold up the files. What does this file cabinet have to hold up the files?
