The only thing I was not happy about is that the sales person did not tell me there were 4-drawer filing cabinets that were shorter in depth than 25". It would have suited my needs better I could have be able to get one that locks. Instead, he showed me the most expensive. When I told him I couldn't afford the one that locked, he then only showed me the 25" depth cabinet. I asked if there was anything less expesive, he said "no". Basically, I feel I was misinformed. I doubt very much if I will buy any more furniture unless I can actually see it on the floor. And go somewhere else where I will not be misled. In this respect, I am disappointed in Staple. For this reason, I will not recommend my friends buy any furniture or cabinets unless they can actually see on the floor.

Attractive, sturdy, well priced, grooved drawers hold the files in place.

We had bought a Staples file cabinet a few years ago and it was heavy duty and solid. We thought we were getting the same solid item but it is definitely not as solid as they used to be. Adequate for home use.
Drawers work quite well.
Latches are not as good

Drawers come without back supports for files. The display in the store has them, but I purchased the cabinets on line.

Do you know what an Optional File Follower is? I glanced over "optional" before ordering two of these. When they arrived, I learned what a File Follower is. The file cabinets are not equipped with any mechanism to hold the files upright in the drawers. You remember in the "old days" when they made file cabinets that had a slide in the back to hold them up and was adjustable as needed? Now one must pay extra for this feature, which is why the price looks so appealing, and they're made in Mexico. By the way, the File Followers for a 4 drawer legal-size cabinet will run you an extra [$]. They are adequate, but not what one would expect. Read the fine print. Staples didn't conveniently provide a link to these optional accessories, so you must search for these yourself. If you're a Premier Card Holder; however, you can purchase the extra parts with no additional shipping charges added. If you are not a Premier Card Holder, you can go to a local Staples store and order them from there with no additional shipping added.
