Comments about Storex Black Magnetic Coat Hook:

The product description is completely wrong. The magnet does not even come close to holding 15 pounds. We used it on a standard steel office door, and it would not even hold the weight of a small lightweight jacket. I don't know where they came up with the figure of 15 pounds, but it barely held 3 pounds. Don't waste your time.

Comments about Storex Black Magnetic Coat Hook:

I bought 2 of these hooks to use at work, one for my coat and one for my lab coat. After searching for some type of magnetic hook that could hold the weight of a coat on many other sites and finding nothing I was excited to find exactly what I wanted on Staples.com. When they first arrived I hung both on my door at home so I would not forget to bring them to work. I went out and when I came back one was lying on the floor. When I looked at the door I realized that the magnet was still there! The hook had been attached to the magnets by nothing but a thing layer of adhesive. I took both to work anyhow and sanded the back of the broken hook and re-attached the magnet with superglue. The next day I found the other hook similarly separated from the magnet and proceeded to re-attach it in the same way. So far they are holding and I hope they continue to do so since I haven't seen a similar product available. The magnet is as strong as they claim, and when it remains attached to hook it doesn't slide down under the weight of my coat.
