This product was well worth the purchase, and I love the addition of the laser for an extremely accurate cut. I have the 15" size and found this a good size for home use. I did manage to cut myself-not on the blade, but on the right edge of the platform, so caution and child supervision are prudent. I bought this online and I think I made the best choice. I bought this specifically to do presentation boards for work, and the difference between scissor cut and the cut provided by this paper cutter are light years apart.

Does not cut but 4 or 5 sheets I have no idea were they get more sheets cut. if you have small pieces it's horrible because you can't line it up do to an opening...Read complete review

Does not cut but 4 or 5 sheets I have no idea were they get more sheets cut. if you have small pieces it's horrible because you can't line it up do to an opening for the handle. You must be very careful and line it up perfectly or it will cut wrong/crooked. I tend to go back and use my smaller one. Wasted money if you do high volume.

I really love the performance and feel of this cutter. On the one I received, the laser seems to be just a marketing ploy by Swingline. It couldn't have cost more than $1.00. The line it projects is almost 5 mm (3/16 in.) wide and cannot be seen at all if the lights are on and the paper is white. I adjusted it closely but it moved when I operated the cutter.

Enough about the laser. That's a minor thing to me. The cutting feel is strong, edges straight, easy to keep the paper in place. One sheet or ten, result is crisp and professional-looking.

I use this machine to cut 1 inch strips of aluminum and brass. So far it has held up very well. Cuts straight and the blade has stayed sharp so far. I am happy with it.
