Great stapler. We've gone through 3 others in the last year. This one is very easy/smooth to use. No effort at all. Doesn't jam either which is a huge plus. It is a little big, but once I used it, the size was not a big deal. I've bought the more expensive one's and they're not as good as this one. Make sure you realize you need to buy special staples. The capacity is a little bigger so you can staple more, but still without the effort!! Staples are also easy to remove even if you're not stapling to it's capacity.

I really like the product. I needed a stapler that would hold alot of pages together and this one does the trick. When I opened it up I was surprised on how much bigger it was than the picture I saw on the web. I am really satified with this unit.

When you push the button at the rear of the stapler, the stapler refill part comes out about 1 inch. I could not figure out how to get the staples in, searched the web for an instruction booklet, found none, but ended up at this site with the reviews. The first reviewer mentioned that you really have to pull hard to get the loader to come out all the way. And he is correct. It becomes easier the more times you pull it open. Wanted to pass this info along before you run to the store to return it as broken.

I use this stapler daily to adhere 35+ pages into file folders. It works great and is easy getting through all the pages. It has a button to open for refilling but you do have to pull pretty hard to get it opened all the way. It is very sturdy and the rubber base keeps it in place. It is a little bulky looking and the orange base is bright. However, appearance aside, I would definitely recommend this stapler and plan on buying more for the office.

This Swingline Optima 70 is a vast improvement over Swingline's other High-Capacity stapler model S7077701, Staples' item# 854548. There are three notable improvements in this new model: 1. The staples that come out have a virtually flat bottom. 2. The stapling point is moved to the front of the stapler for an unobstructed view and for better positioning and control. 3. Even less force is needed than model S7077701. The Optima 70 relies on a trigger mechanism to build up the force to shoot out a staple. Since I just bought the stapler I don't know how long the trigger mechanism will last. I mention this because some of the display models at [...]with this kind of trigger mechanism seem to quit functioning. This tells me long term durability may be an issue.I tested the Optima 70 to verify that it can indeed staple up to 70 sheets of 20-lb. paper with perfect ease.I truly enjoy the fact that it produces flat bottom staples. Flat bottom staples have three major benefits compared to traditional curved bottom staples. 1. The flat staples do not ever project sharp ends that endanger fingers. With traditional curved bottom staples, particularly when used on thick stacks of paper that exceed the capacity of either the stapler or the staples, there are frequent dangers of sharp points protruding on the underside. 2. The flat bottom staples are also much less likely to damage envelops. 3. Documents with flat bottom staples take up much less room in the file cabinet.It has a wide usability range. It can easily handle 2 sheets just as well as 70 sheets, all the while keeping the staple bottoms flat.Durability aside, which I have not had time to test, the Optima 70 is undoubtedly the best manual stapler I have ever used.
