I wanted to use this to copy my Outlook contacts from my desktop to a new laptop (so I wouldn't have to enter all of them manually, one by one). The Outlook Sync function seemed to be missing a step...or two. Once I was informed what to do by their tech support, I tried what they told me, certain steps were still missing, and it STILL didn't work! It's not accomplishing what I need (and bought it for) to do. I do have to say, though, that it copied my Internet favorites quickly and in no time flat.

We got this to transfer files from our old Windows XP computer to our just purchased Windows 7 Laptop. The guy at Staples said it couldn't be done - upon startup Windows wants to take over. Don't let it. Use the provided "Go suite" program to bridge the two. When doing that, grabbing files from the old system was effortless and just like explorer.

  I think you can as what I was doing was synching from a desktop with XP to a laptop with 7. (The two systems are so close together, it's not an issue.) You can only synch folders, though, not files. It won't do individual files, which is kind of exasperating.
