This Targus mobile charger packs a lot of punch into such a small device. Even though it will charge most iPads, iPods, and iPhones, it weighs just eight ounces. You can put it in a backpack, suitcase, or even a handbag and you won't feel the extra weight at all. It is also very compact, so it won't take up much room in your bag. It pairs well with the equally small Targus universal tablet stylus, which will work with both your iPad and iPhone.

Adaptor
The adaptor is a DC auto adaptor, meaning it will charge your devices while you are driving. All you have to do is plug the adaptor into the charging socket in your vehicle and you will soon have a freshly charged device. This is ideal for those who take frequent road trips or have long commutes to and from work each day.

Compatible Devices
This Targus charger works with the original Apple iPad and the iPad 2 so that you have tablet computing at your fingertips even when you are traveling by vehicle. In addition, it works with Apple iPhones and iPods.

      The charger was exactly what I wanted -- the removable cord was also usable in my 110V wall charger, letting me take one less cord on my trip to San Francisco. The only problem was that the base of the charger, when the cord was removed, was nearly impossible to see in the cigarette lighter -- I forgot to retrieve it when I turned in the rental car, and the rental car company was unable to locate it and return it to me...

        Sits flush to dash. LED power indicator. Delivers enough current for the iPad to charge at a regular rate. Pulls out of socket easily when finished. Only one USB connection. Not for charging more than one device at a time. It came in handy during a power outage and I was able to use my car to charge my iPad.

            The cord separates from the charger when you try to remove it from the lighter input. I could have gotten used to that except that it stopped funtioning all together after about 3 weeks use.By the way when I contacted STAPLES for action they referred me to the manufacturer so I guess I'm out [$] bucks

                    All three generations of Apple iPad use the same charging pins in the dock connector, so any device marked as iPad compatible will work with all generations of iPad. The only Apple devices which are incompatible are pre-2004 devices which used the same 30-pin dock connector with a different power pin.
