Easy to set up, works right out of the box, has two power lamp settings, can use as a reading light or just to help see computer keyboard at night, well-constructed, but light-weight, very good price for what you get. Too bad there isn't a third lamp setting for even greater brightness. I have three of these around the house. Useful as a bedroom reading light.

JUST A NICE DESK LAMP. TWO SETTINGS WITH PRETTY GOOD LIGHT. JUST WISH IT WAS A LITTLE TALLER.

Good for very directed light but not if you need a broader pool of light. Also, the glass cover gets very hot and even with the little METAL handle to adjust, it's hard to maneuver it where you need it.

I purchased the following desk lamp for one of my collegues. I set it up but did not bother to check if the unit worked. I honestly did not think I had to do this. When my collegue returned to the office, she informed me the unit had an intermittent problem as it turned on "once" and then did not work any more. I brought it to my area and I tried plugging it into different plugs. Same thing happened. It worked once and then it turned off. I tried adjusting the contacts where the bulb is inserted and it did not work. After several tries, we just gave up. Unfortunately, I had already thrown the box away and ended up disposing the unit.
