I needed a second light for knitting while watching TV. I have been looking for an LED lamp that was portable and found this. Very pleased with the appearance, brightness, and ease of transport. I like it better than my Ott-lite!

This lamp replaces a fluorescent desk lamp. The light from the lamp is about the same color as fluorescent light (daylight) which is easy on my eyes and nice and bright. It stays put where you set it, not like the fluorescent which tended to sag under its relatively heavy weight. It gets only mildly warm (not hot like an incandescent which gets hot). So it gives good light of a pleasing color, is mechanically adjustable to put the light where you want it, and is efficient. I have this one on my workbench. I will buy another one for the desk.

I wish the switch wasn't on the cord but I understand why it is. If this didn't have the option to use a clamp instead of the base then I would expect the switch to be on the base. Overall I am pleased with the finish. The screw know to position the lamp head itself seems to work okay. The springs have a nice and proper tension on them. Even at odd angles and such the palmp holds its position without a problem. Other lamps of this type I have puchased and used in the past were not so great. Overall I an satisfied with this purchase.

Redesign the unit with switch on the base. Cord mounted switch puts switch behind desk unless you secure it to the base for use. Could be much more convenient.
