Q:
What is the difference between this and the Ti - 89 ? I have a child in trig. going to calculus and want one that will take her through high school. Thankyou
The TI-Nspire CAS handheld offers new and unique pedagogical benefits that the TI-89 Titanium does not. This is ideal for: Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Statistics, College Math, Business & Finance, Biology, Physics and Chemistry.

Q:
What is the difference between The TI-Nspire and the TI-89 Graphing Calculators?
The TI-Nspire CAS handheld offers new and unique pedagogical benefits that the TI-89 Titanium does not.

A:
The Ti-89 has features related to mechanical & differential engineering, but lacks pre-algebra, biology, finance, business, trigonometry and chemistry tools. The former (engineering) tools are all that is lacking in the TI-Nspire. Ref: education.ti.com has a "which calculator is right for me" link.

Q:
we are looking for the TI-nspire CAS. do you have this model?
Answered on 8/19/2010 by Customer Care from Staples
A:
I'm a teacher who has been trained in using the Nspire and Nspire with CAS. The calculator pictured does not have CAS. The CAS model is all black and says CAS at the top. The regular Nspire has a faceplate that can be exchanged for a TI-84 faceplate. The Nspire with CAS does not have that option. Could you please give a more detail as to which calculator is being offerred?
Thanks!

Q:
Why is it that Office Depot offers rebates on this item but Staples does not?
Given the larger graphical display, how does battery life compare to that for the TI 84 Plus. Also, how much does the rechargeable battery cost and how long will the calculator (on average) run on a single charge?
Asked on 8/7/2010 by Scientific Mom from Shrewsbury MA
Yes this calc is approved for ACT and SAT (listed on back of box). In addition you can email away for a free snap in TI-84 Plus keypad for free! So you can use it as a TI-84 too. No need to buy another. I do have this calc and I find the screen hard to read. You would think for this cost they would have added a backlight or even a HD screen. Oh well. I hope this helps!
