We had one of the 1st TomToms to come out several years ago, so we wanted an updated unit with spoken street names. This unit is very easy to use and the slightly larger screen is a plus for us. I would recommend this to 1st time users and anyone replacing their old one.

my device failed (would not hold a charge) after less than a year. luckily it was still under manufacturer warranty... however, it has taken me close to 6 phone calls and 3 emails to finally provide TomTom with all the required information before they were willing to replace the device. it has been a very frustrating process with the worst customer support. be ware and make sure to keep your proof of purchase and the box it came in.

Took 3 trys and a phone call to get one time latest map update. Seems many things not avaliable on this model,like can not change map to show the direction your are traveling if you want the top of the map to be south you can not do that. Does not tell or show via N, NE, S,SE, ect on screen.User manual is not detailed enough to help with many things.
