This hard drive is fantastic. I am a Mac user. I was a little concerned when I first opened it because it didn't say on the package Mac compatible (I ordered online). I opened the instructions and they said that it would have to be re-formatted for use with a Mac, which I am not familiar with. I connected it to my Mac, and my computer re-formated it for me with one click. I had intended to use the hard drive just to store pictures and videos of my children, but ended up using it to back up my entire computer! This is my first hard drive and it is very easy to use. Great value. I backed up my entire computer and only used 90GB of space. I'd definitely recommend this hard drive.

I bought the external hard drive to use as a hard drive for windows Server 2008 and all this product des is back up my system with no way to turn that option off that I can find. I have asked many people including other students, professors, teachers and instructors at Three Rivers Community College which I attend, and they told me to try things which I have and with the same result, so what I bought was a back up hard drive which I do not need considering I bought and installed Norton 360 on my computer for that option.

      I was traveling for business when my laptop hard disk crashed! My computer technician recommended this product to try to back up my hard disk. It worked! Timing was everything and this product was so easy to install and use that I was able to get a full backup of my hard drive just in time. After backing up the data to this Toshiba external drive, the hard drive from my laptop stopped working.
