We absolutely love this! It couldn't have been easier to use and move many items from our laptops and tablets. What a find! We had been looking for an easy way to store several things without having a lot of different things to move it all to helping to make our laptops quicker and have easy access to the items removed. This has made all of those wishes possible and we still have lots more room for storeage. I was looking into the larger model, however it was out of stock. What we discovered was that there is plenty of room on this to meet all of our current needs! Thank you.

Used for 3 days on my samsung TV as media center, then started doing clicking sounds and is no longuer recognized on media center or ps3. Recognized by laptop but useless now for the use I bought it for. Got to deal with warranty which part number says it's only a in-store system warranty. Being i had set it aside for more then 30 days I probably won't get any replacements. Go Lacie or western digital for eHDD.

Comments about Toshiba Canvio Desktop 2TB Desktop USB 3.0 External Hard Drive (Black):

As noted in my review on the 3TB model I purchased this model after returning the other because the 3TB doesn't work with Windows 7 built in Backup due to sector size on larger drives. The 2TB works great!

Endorsed Hard Drive for Wii U...

Comments about Toshiba Canvio Desktop 2TB Desktop USB 3.0 External Hard Drive (Black):

I bought this drive because it is one of the recommended hard drives by Nintendo for the Wii U. I have had it for months and I have had no problems from it since having in it. I only bought it for the Wii U memory expansion (2 TB is the limit for Wii U, for now). It works for me. It might work for everyone else.

This unit does a lot of the work for you, in that it copies what is on the hard drive you are backing up, you don't have to transfer folders yourself,

No, this is an external hard disc drive, not a (tower) computer.

will this drive work if it's attached to the USB port on my router?
Asked on 2/22/2013 by MM from Maryland

            1 answer

            • A:

It should. You don't mention which router you have, but if it supports sharing an external USB drive, then this will work. Some routers have as a requirement that you reformat the drive and use a particular file system so you will need to consult your router's manual for details.
