Purchased this on Feb 17 and so far am quite pleased. Once you get past the start screen of Windows 8, it is a pretty good OS. Network setup was a breeze, and sharing with other computers in my home network is easy. Things like Task Manager have been greatly improved. The laptop itself boots up quickly and performs well. I stream video from Amazon Prime and that works quite well. The extra couple G of RAM (comes with 6 G instead of 4) makes a difference in performance and will most likely help down the road. Out of the box, the setup was quick and easy. I have encountered no problems with either the hardware or software so far, and I look forward to lots of use from this machine. Doesn't seem to get too warm, but I would still recommend use of a chill pad anyway; it can't hurt. The only reason I rated it as a 4 is because it is still so new, the jury is out on the machine's longevity.

This computer is lightening speed compared to my old one which was only three years old. I am able to manage multiple screens of web browser, uploads, downloads, word preocessing and graphic editing programs going simultaneously. I would completely love it if only two things were different.... the keyboard has a hard time with certain buttons so typing quickly can be a challenge at times.

The Windows 8 system has a tendency to switch screens on its own which is very difficult and frustrating when you already working between a few screens. When I have more time, I hope to find a solution to turn this off somehow, someway.

Oh - one more thing - Skype, the microphone and speakers do not have adjustments other than up, down or auto so there is a bad feedback problem. Skype recommends getting a headset to use with it.

Other than the above, this computer runs circles around my old computer!

I like the lap top itself but, I was mislead in what was available. I was told that it had word and excel but I cannot get into it. Also, I was told it came with the computer and when I try to get into it, I am being asked for my credit card so I can purchase the system. I am going to school and really need the office system and because I haven't been able to access the system I will probably end up returning the system and going somewhere else.

I was looking for a good value in a laptop to replace an older one. I use it strictly for business, and wanted reasonable performance using Microsoft Office products. This computer meets or exceeds my expectations for a mid-range processor I3. I really do not care about the multimedia capabilities, but they seem OK except fot the quality of the speakers. I really would like a touch screen, but for now this Windows 8 computer works fine with a mouse. I really like Windows 8, it seems vero robust and easy to use once you get over the initial learning curve. I have been ysing Windows for as long as there has been a Windows, and this version is the best so far. I am planning to upgrade all my computers (5) to Windows 8.

Like it well in general. Hinge for screen seems a little too stiff. Somewhat heavy in weight.
Like its features. Fingerboard texture is different, but able to work it OK.
