Purchased this on Feb 17 and so far am quite pleased. Once you get past the start screen of Windows 8, it is a pretty good OS. Network setup was a breeze, and sharing with other computers in my home network is easy. Things like Task Manager have been greatly improved. The laptop itself boots up quickly and performs well. I stream video from Amazon Prime and that works quite well. The extra couple G of RAM (comes with 6 G instead of 4) makes a difference in performance and will most likely help down the road. Out of the box, the setup was quick and easy. I have encountered no problems with either the hardware or software so far, and I look forward to lots of use from this machine. Doesn't seem to get too warm, but I would still recommend use of a chill pad anyway; it can't hurt. The only reason I rated it as a 4 is because it is still so new, the jury is out on the machine's longevity.

Windows 8 is not business user friendly

This computer is lightening speed compared to my old one which was only three years old. I am able to manage multiple screens of web browser, uploads, downloads, word preocessing and graphic editing programs going simultaneously. I would completely love it if only two things were different.... the keyboard has a hard time with certain buttons so typing quickly can be a challenge at times.

The Windows 8 system has a tendency to switch screens on its own which is very difficult and frustrating when you already working between a few screens. When I have more time, I hope to find a solution to turn this off somehow, someway.

Oh - one more thing - Skype, the microphone and speakers do not have adjustments other than up, down or auto so there is a bad feedback problem. Skype recommends getting a headset to use with it.

Other than the above, this computer runs circles around my old computer!

While it is too early to say much about my experience with this computer, so far so good. It is a very light weight and easy to carry around.The price is very reasonable and affordable. I checked various places and I found Staples price to be the lowest. In addition, sales person was vey good and knowledgeable. Furhter, the technician did a good job in training me as to how to get most out of my computer. He explained different features of the computer in easy and non-technical language. I would have no hesitation to recommend this computer to my friends and relatives. I am a regular customer of Staples for the past so many years and always found the staff to be very friendly, knowledgable and cooperative.

the touch pad is rough just like the material around it. hard to tell when your fingers are on the touch pad or on the computer itself. i guess i will get used to it but it is a dumb design flaw. why not just leave the pad smooth. still pc is fast.
