I am a senior engineer in the computer industry and used verbatim media as my #1 choice for reliable, long term storage of critical data and multimedia. If you have a problem with this product, don't blame these discs, check your equipment.

Not the best, but cheap

I usually use Memorex and sometimes Sony. I never had issues with backing up and then using on other computers or DVD players. Verbatim has been a mixed bag for me. I have had 1 in 4 discs be bad or not able to read on other PCs that have read the Memorex DLs with no issues. If you have something you care about, maybe you should spend a bit more for a better brand. If it is a daily backup of files that are of little value, then these work fine. I knew some who were burning security camera footage on these. Most of the time this footage was of no value, so if they could not play it back later it was not an issue. The key is, you have decide how much you value what you are burning.
