Scan and send over Wi-Fi to PC, Mac, Android, iOS & the Cloud.

Visioneer Mobility Air makes scanning over wireless (Wi-Fi) a reality because we included a 4GB Eye-Fi wireless SD card. Your scanned images are stored on the Eye-Fi SD card and then Eye-Fi uses your wireless network to effortlessly transfer these images* to your Windows or Mac computer, Android or iOS smartphone or tablet, as well as to over 25 on-line destinations such as Evernote, Picasa, Facebook, and Flickr. Not near a wireless network or hot spot? No problem. If the Eye-Fi card can't connect to a hot spot, it becomes one on its own and transmits your scanned files. This is called Direct Mode. *While Mobility Air can scan to PDF or JPG format on SD or USB removable storage, the Eye-Fi SD card can only transmit JPG files wirelessly.

Comments about Visioneer Mobility Air Cordless Scanner:

This scanner doesnt work! I purchased it online. When you follow the instructions to set up the eye fi card it fries the scanner and it doesnt work. I called Visioneer tech support and they indicated it was an aberration and to return it to the store and get a new one, which I did. I followed the instructions to the letter on the second scanner only to have the exact same thing happen. I returned it yet again and purchased a Brother 700D. So far so good but the jury is still out. Avoid the heartburn and skip this product.

Never had the chance to see if it even would work. Followed the directions to the letter. The scanner never would turn on. Was not going to waste my time to try another one if the first one was bad. You can't even start to see what it does till after you charge it for 8 hours, and no way to run it direct into the computer power to use it right away. I need something I can use now.

Comments about Visioneer Mobility Air Cordless Scanner:

                        This thing is great.

As a working investigator, I use it extensively in the field to capture images of paper documents and plastic identification documents (it's great for ID's & drivers licences); especially when there's no fax machine available. Scanning straight to PDF saves a LOT of time, and most documents are small enough in bitsize to be easily sent as e-mail attachements. Its biggest pluses are battery power and scanning directly to SD cards or an ordinary USB flash drive without needing a computer until later--these features make it unique from all of the other portable scanners I've seen, which won't work unless tethered to a computer. Battery life is great; the rechargeable battery pack holds its charge for days when not in use, and charges quickly.

It's not perfect, though. It tends to start feeding documents before you can properly align them, causing them to skew. Although not needing a computer to scan is a huge plus, you can't immediately review the scanned image for quality. The SD card should be more recessed. If it were flush, you could simply store it in the slot all the time, but because it sticks out about halfway, it's easily dislodged and succeptible to breakage. It's not duplex, so you have to scan 2-sided documents twice. Maybe those changes will be in the next model...?
