One unit does it all! I like the short 4 inch integrated USB cable which stores neatly away under the body of the unit. Iit is perfect for laptop or netbook use, where a 6 foot cable is not necessary. It will not be as easy to use with desktop computers that have their USB connectors in the back or bottom front, In that case you would need a USB extender cable. I tried reading several different cards with large files and it read each card flawlessly and fast. The price is very low for a reader/writer with this many ports that even reads Olympus XD cards.
It is an excellent choice for the digital photographer on the go.
As far as reliability goes...We will see...

Loved the product when I had it att'd to the main computer in the house...when I went to transfer the device to the laptop the medal part of the plug got stuck in the USB port...debating on whether or not I wnat to chance an even exchange or to try another brand since this one failed to be durable, sturdy or realiable unless you leave it in the first computer you plug it into!

          There are so many gadgets to get for your PC, this is by far the best idea. No more having several devices for several of your items. This one unit will do the work for many of your projects. Everyone has different cell phones? No problem with this card reader, it can handle all of them.
