My nine year old received this as a gift. She loves it. She went through about 8 batteries in the first couple of days. She was recording everything. The absolutely best feature is the slide-out usb. There are no wires to lose. The only drawback is that there is no flash. It works great with plenty of light. I would recommend this to anyone who wants an uncomplicated, easy to use camera/video recorder.

This was bought for my 10yr son to use. He has never used a camera before, thought it might be a good beginner camera. It's not good at all in low lighting and it feels like a cheep plastic, but that also comes with the price. It's small and compact and easy to use. The usb is connected to the camera which is nice. Don't have to worry about cables getting lost. It's ok for the kids to play with, but I wouldn't buy it for video you would want to keep. But we've also only had it a week. Not much of a trial period for us yet.

Q:
I'm not a fan of false advertising, and I've noticed the term "DVR" (Digital Video Recorder) has been thrown around a lot on the internet for cameras, or camcorders. A "DVR" is supposed to be able to record video, typically with an audio/video-in jack from external media, such as a TV, VCR, cable/satellite, computer, or another camera (spy-cam, security-cam, etc.) Is this an actual Digital Video Recorder in this sense? If not, shouldn't it just be called a "Digital Camera, or Camcorder?"
The term DVR refers to a device that records video in a digital format and stores this data by way of a disk, USB flash drive, SD card ect. Because this device records video to an SD card, this device can be described as a DVR device. If you would like to place an order for this device, please contact us at 1-800-333-3330.
What is the resolution (640x480, 720x640, 720P or I, etc) of the video? About how long (2hrs, 4 hrs, etc) of video would fit on a 4GB HDHC memory chip? Thanks.
