I inherited a digital camera from a friend and she did not have the cable to transfer images to my computer and I did not have a card slot reader. I went to Staples to originally purchase a cable and quickly found out that I needed a specialized cable. [...] Very easy to use, just pop it in and transfer pictures. It is small enough that it can fit into any camera or laptop bag - no bigger than a flash drive. I am extremely happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone who's camera utilized SD memory cards.

I bought this for a client, and I liked how small it was. I also liked that it didn't try to do a lot of things--it was very simple. The price was right, too. However, when we tried to preview or copy files from the SD-card, they would come over with a weird "band" on them. Windows Preview showed the ban, but the camera's preview did not. If you tried plugging the card in again, the "band" would change position. After copying over, Windows would show the "band," and QuickTime preview would report the image file was corrupt. I decided to exchanged this unit for a Sony all-in-one card reader--and that worked perfectly!

This product will allow you to plug in your SD card from your camera on one end, and plug this deivce into your USB port of your computer. You would then be able to load the pictures from your memory card onto your computer through this device. You would really only need to use this product if your computer does not have the necessary card reader already installed. Usually a card reader is located on the front of your desktop computer, and will have several slots that would allow you insert many different types of media cards. I

There is an USB cable included, though it shouldn't need it if you have clear access to your USB ports. It works just like a USB thumb drive. No SD card is included, but you wouldn't expect one for the price.
