Comments about Vizio CA24-A2 All in One Computer:
Overall a great computer. Better choice than a laptop, if you have a tablet. Touchpad functions like Apple computers, but gives you the functionality of Windows 8, without the need for a touchscreen. Very fast & extremely easy to set up. Screen resolution is first rate HD. It could use expanability of the speaker system to 5.1 or 7.1, however the sound is impressive for 2.1. All USB's are 3, so it is just a matter of time before hardware catches up for full use of the available speed. The price is close to a high end laptop, but provides more than most of the laptops available within the same price range. It does not have a built in optical drive. This was not a problem for me because I purchased an LG external Super Multi-Blu Blu-Ray optical drive for my laptop shortly before it died. There is plenty of space on the computer/monitor/stand to attach a piece of velcro tape tom the optical drive & place it in a convenient spot. Multi-port USB's devices do not slow down hardware or flash drive function when plugged into the USB 3 port. This was a problem I experienced with my laptops, at times. The touchpad takes some getting used to & can be a little too sensitive, at times. There is a "Finger Sensing Program" that enables you to perform all of the fancy "Apple" maneuvers, but it takes time & practice to master most of them. Some, however, are intuitive & very easy to perform. The 24" screen appears bigger than its actual measurements. I was considering the 27" screen, but I am very happy that I chose the 24" screen. For my purposes, I believe the 27" screen would have been too big for my available space.I, also, purchased the extended warranty. I was somewhat dissappointed that Assurant, the insurance provider, was only offering a 2 year warranty. I had a 3 year warranty for my laptop & it came in handy when I developed a series of problems that could not be fixed. The Staples associate was very knowledgeable & valued my business. He explained that Assurant stopped offering 3 year warranties because most problems occur in the 3rd year & they did not want to be on the hook for replacement of another product or reimburse the purchase price of the defective product unless another warranty is purchased for the 3rd &/or 4th year.
