    Over all I recommend this drive. The only con I've found is the start up. When you open the drive in windows it can take around 15 seconds for the drive to get up to speed to display your files.

      This is a great drive. I hooked it to my wireless router to stream my entire collection of movies to my Blue-ray players. I bought this drive particularly because it's the only drive I could find that would completely shut down when not in use, even while plugged into my router, other drives would continually run and get hot. This drive goes to sleep, no heat or wear and tear. When you call on it there's a short lag before it fires up, perfectly understandable, it does exactly what I want.

      Super fast using the USB 3, makes me hate using my old drives.

            I am a sound engineer and I do studio and live
            productions with a portable rig with a MacBook Pro. I have more
            than 3TB worth of raw audio after 4 years of projects that are continually getting bigger and more elaborate. Backing it all up is really
            important, so I spotted this and needed to get it. I use it as
            Time Machine backup, got it on a whim and lo and behold, 4 weeks
            later my computer crashed and I used this as recovery and it's like
            nothing happened. Worked like a charm. I have another WD 1TB My
            Passport and 1TB My Book as another Time Machine (which this is the
            same size, these things are getting pretty compact), both have held
            up for a couple years now so hopefully this is as
            reliable.
