This tablet was to replace my old Bamboo Craft tablet. I've previously purchased from Wacom, and they continue to make pleasing products. This tablet runs perfectly. I do a lot of digital art (in Photoshop, Paint Tool SAI, and other programs) and having a pressure sensitive, easy-to-use tablet is a must.
The Bamboo Capture fits those needs for a great price. It has the same level of pressure as my Craft, but it seems to work better than my old tablet ever did.
The programs included run great as well. I particularly love the Autodesk Sketchbook Express, though you cannot save layers because it is not the full program.

The downsides to this? Installation failed twice on me, and you have to buy the wireless components for an extra forty dollars.
Beyond that, I recommend this product. It's a fantastic buy for the price.

The included software is good, but I was hoping for more with the Pen tablet. It is a little better than using the mouse, but for my uses, not worth the price. I think an artist would like it, but for graphics I really don't use it.

Good quality tool. Made well and is very easy to use. Looking forward to obtaining the wireless feature. Cord is fine but with the laptop I have it is not as easy to use as on my desktop.

Comments about Wacom Bamboo Capture Pen Tablet (CTH470):

Good: I attached my Bamboo to a small piece of canvas board so it and my Apple keyboard are one nice unit on my lap. I did the same with my previous Intuos & iMac keyboard. All you need is a little Duck tape and something to raise the keyboard to the right angle.

Bad: The black nameplate bar off to one side is USELESS. It should have remained a separate finger-scroll; I liked that on the old Intuos. I don't care for the broad, flat buttons; I can never remember what I'd set them for. Control set-up didn't have the options I was looking for and should be more intuitive. The main control area is so sensitive I can't just rest my hand as I draw or scroll. I had to turn off the gesture feature; it was getting in the way. And why doesn't the stylus have a clip like a real pen? It would prevent roll-away when I shift the pad's position and would allow the pen to clip more securely to the provided belt loop.

Comments about Wacom Bamboo Capture Pen Tablet (CTH470):

The Bamboo Capture tablet is in many was an improvement over my older Wacom tablet. The side buttons allow you to access certain commands which is helpful and fast. The squeeze function really works and works like an Ipad or iphone. I do wish it had a glossey surface instead of a rough surface to work on. On my older Wacom it is glossy and you can work faster. I put a piece of glossy plastic over mine to solve that problem. Also it would be helpfull if the cord connection was in the front top section. With the wire on the side it can be hard to fit with a keyboard. Other then that is is a very useful tool working in Photoshop.

Comments about Wacom Bamboo Capture Pen Tablet (CTH470):

I used to draw just with pen and paper, scan it in, and trace it with Photoshop. When I moved, and my scanner broke, there was little to no productivity. I got the tablet for Valentine's Day, and I've already finished the commissions on my tablet.

Honestly, I was afraid to make the transition over for big projects. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how natural drawing felt on the tablet. The learning tutorial is easy to navigate and explains everything you need to know about operating the tablet.

              A:

Yes, this would work with your Adobe Illustrator. However for artwork in Illustrator, you may be interested in upgrading to a Intuos4 tablet. The Intuos4 tablets provide a lot more functionality and the increased active area is very useful when creating vector images or tracing images.

Additionally, it is compatible with your Mac computer.
