Have two new computer, both with Windows 8.1. Had KIS installed on them and on both it had some serious bugs. Did a lot of reading and settled on Webroot. A product that did not even get a second look as I did not see it listed much on those independent anti-virus test sites. Did see where others who look at software were saying some good things about Webroot. Long story short, bought it in CD form and loaded it on both computers that KIS would not play nice with. Install was very fast. Scans are very fast. Seems the new way Webroot looks for troubles kept it from being a resource hog like so many anti-virus programs are known for. Much has been written about the way Webroot works. Since it was loaded on our computers it has worked with out any problems. We do use Malwarebytes just as another tool and Webroot has no problems with this. I like the way the folks from the Webroot team will chime in on other review sites when some complains about some problem they have. Figured if they take the time to read the many reviews and then to chime in, this has to be good. I mean, this is a very rare thing indeed for a company to really care that much. I went to change a setting on Webroot and I found something new to me. Before the setting would take place, Webroot has a feature where you have to type in those security letters many have seen on other web pages. This is good! It means that if someone does manage to load a bad thing on your computer, they can not make changes that allow them to work around your protection. Never have seen this done before. Love it. Of course, I am a firm believer that there is no perfect anti-virus program on the market. We did have another computer get hacked and it had KIS installed which always test good. So time will tell if Webroot will do all they claim. At the present time, it has done very well. I do see it as yet another tool for us to use to stay safe. Love the way it has worked so far in all respects and doing so while being very light on it's feet is a huge plus! Would have given it a 10, but that has to be earned and time will be that judge

So far the program seems to be working fine. I used Norton 360 for years and when I purchased my first Mac tried their Mac Internet Security program, but it was not user friendly like the Window's version and I was getting all sorts of annoying popups about this or that program and it never remembered the settings for some reason even though they were listed as allow in the Preferences. I decided to try something different and found Webroot on a search and after reviewing numerous options thought this was worth a try. I'll be honest, I am not totally familiar with the program yet. Price wise it was OK. So far it seems to be taking care of my computer, which is what I purchased it for. It found several items after a couple scans that I had no idea what it was talking about. Some I allowed, some I blocked and then waited to see what happened the next time I started the computer. It ran fine so I removed the ones I blocked and then tried blocking the ones I had allowed. The computer worked fine when I restarted so I removed them as well. The program seems to be working well with Parallels and my virtual Windows that uses one of my Norton subscriptions for Windows. Maybe that was part of the problem with the Mac Norton version. After removing the files Webroot was suggesting I do something with, I will admit my computer seems to be running a bit faster than it was. Maybe a fringe benefit. Finally, if it keeps doing as well as it seems to be, I might try the Windows version when my Norton subscription expires. If I had more experience and messed with the settings and program a bit more, I would probably give it at least a 4, but honestly I haven't been using it enough yet. Oh, I almost forgot, it has blocked a few sites for me when browsing for information for work that I hadn't expected. Since I wasn't sure about when I clicked on them, it was nice to see the program works! I will most likely up my subscription when this one expires. It is kind of nice the way it works in the background.

Comments about Webroot SecureAnywhere Anitvirus for Windows/Mac (1-3 Users) [Download]:

Out of the antivirus programs I've used, Webroot is my pick. First, it scans regularly, and is "on" all the time, but doesn't significantly slow or interrupt my work, and doesn't require frequent restarts. I've had no instances of infection of any kind since I've been using it over the last few years.
