Very simple to set-up and back-up files. Docked a star for precautionary measures, because we haven't had to recall the information. I'm assuming there won't be any issues.

I replaced well-known brand "S" that quit right after warranty. I own at least 5 WD drives, mostly older, and have never had one go bad. A reliable brand at a value price. Ordering was easy and shipment was ahead of schedule.

Comments about Western Digital Elements 1TB External Hard Drive:

Needed something to back up files and to free up space on my PC's hardrive. Do not need access to external drive all the time however, so would have liked it to have had an "on/off" swith so that I wouldn't have to keep "unplugging" it from my PC and "pulling the plug from the electrical outlet". Also, bought this when I received a 20% coupon from Staples and the item was on sale for $10 off. So for the price can't really complain!

This external drive works as advertised. Nothing exotic, but I want my data back up target to be reliable. I chose Western Digital in part because of their long time presence in the hardware field.

Nice that the drive turns on and off with your computer.
