i can't believe the amount of storage I got for such a low price.
My first computer cost me $100 per meg for 8 megs.
Here I got a terabyte for just over $100! Wow!

This drive would be awesome if WD didn't make it too simple for users. You cannot manually choose files and folders to backup. You can only choose types of files to backup and only from the main drive.

Primary use is for backups. Included software is poor -- you cannot select specific folders to backup. Haven't needed to restore yet, so don't know how that will work. The unit itself is very fast in file transfer, and of course the capacity is great.

Bought one for home pc from Staples. So quick to set up, easy to use I recommended one to a business associate and he bought it the next day. Works well on either PC or Mac. (I have the PC, he has the Mac). We are both equally happy. Just remember to back up the software to your computer that is on the drive before reformatting it. The software includes your manual. There is no printed manual in the box.

They have fixed the problem with the installed SmartWare. You can now delete it and fully remove it! Go to the WDC website and check it out!

What could be better? We got this during a promotion and paid something like [$] for it with taxes [...](it was [$] coupon). We've backed up all my husband's music and videos, he uses it everyday and never a problem. Automatic back-up is great.
