Q: Can this drive be attached to my main computer and still be accessed by my other computer in the house ... or ... does it need to be attached to the router of the house ... my router is located in the house but is in the basement closet ... which I call my server room ... Asked on 3/10/2013 by hillja10 from Thornton, Colorado Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: This storage device is a NAS, or network attached storage, server. Its only data connection is via the Ethernet port. You need to connect this NAS server to a free Ethernet port on your router. Once connected, it can be accessed by any computer on your home network. If you cannot locate it near the router then you may need to consider other connection options. You might look into getting set of Ethernet over power line adapters. This avoids the need to run any additional wires through the walls of your house. Answered on 3/11/2013 by Community Answer from None
