With a total of 4 TB of storage space across two hard drives in 0/1 RAID bays, the WD My Book Thunderbolt Duo has enough memory capacity for even the most challenging desktop users. Each separate hard drive can be set to JBOD instead of RAID and hot-swapped, eliminating wait time. Thunderbolt data transfer support provides your My Book Thunderbolt Duo with has the fastest data speed technology available: up to 10 GB/s, duplexed. This desktop hard drive works well with either Mac or PC computers.

Flexible Options with RAID and JBOD
The Thunderbolt Duo uses three hard drive array settings: RAID 0 for speed, RAID 1 for high redundancy to eliminate data failure, and JBOD for disks that are to be used as individuals instead of twinned sets. You can also daisy-chain other Thunderbolt devices for increased workflow and efficiency.

Hot-Swap Hard Drives
If you're using your WD My Book Thunderbolt Duo in JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Disks) mode, you can swap out the unused hard drive on the fly. This allows it to transfer data to or from several different hard drives quickly and efficiently.

Lightning-Fast Data Transfers
Dual Thunderbolt ports allow your data to transfer at speeds of up to 10 GB/s, faster than any other commercially available data transfer rate. These speeds are achieved by using multiple technologies, including Thunderbolt speed, RAID 0, and duplex transferring.
