                    Yes, you should be able to use the product interchangeably between a PC and Mac. Of course, file formats specific to either platform will not be properly accessible when accessed from the wrong platform, specifically program installation files (.dmg or .exe).

                    Yes USB 3.0 is backward compatible with USB 2.0 so the cable will work. However the unit will only operate at 2.0 speed/bandwidth.
