These are post binders- they do not have rings in them. These have 3 fasteners and will hold up to 650 pages. We do not carry any hanging post binders with rings. Thanks

I've used these binders to archive my files and have tried to use 8.5" * 11" sheet protectors in the past, in which instance I filled it 100%. But because the sheet protectors are so thick, it makes it almost impossible to view your documents' data that is closest to the spine. Also, using sheet protectors made my binders very heavy, so I used a file cabinet with a heavy-duty frame.

As for the pockets, if you lay the binder on a desk and open it up, you will see that the pockets are parallel to the spine, thus resulting in nothing falling into your file cabinet drawer that's stored in the pocket, while it's stored in the file cabinet.

Based on my own experiences:

Any sheet protector will stick out from the side of the binder, thus touching the file cabinet drawer; instead, use the "Day-Timer® Zip Pouch, Folio Size" (Staples Item #: 332850), like I do, to store items in it like CDs, Manuals, Cookbooks, Pens, or anything else that is bulky and/or preferably "non-hole-punchable".

This is an excellent pouch to use with these binders if you need to file away bulky items. The "Day-Timer® Zip Pouch, Folio Size" is durable and thick in size and expands large enough to be able to reliably store any large quantity of items. My data has never fallen out of these zipper pouches, which I use in these binders.

Using any type of 3-hole-punched CD Protector is not a good technique to use to file away CDs with these post-binders because if you fill it all the way, it makes it impossible to view the CDs head-on and hard to decipher which CD is which; instead, use CD envelopes and place them the pouch
