Q: 1) This product does scan at 300 dpi. How fast is a 300 dpi B&W scan, using the flatbed? 2) What size is the flatbed - please do not give the dimensions of the entire machine, only the flatbed glass. 3) Does it auto-crop (the existing answer is not responsive). Please note that I have read the specifications. Asked on 5/19/2012 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: Scanning speed depends on the type of material being scanned. At 300 dpi a 8.5" x 11" of printed text (black & white) take approx 3 seconds to scan. The scanner glass is 10" x 17" in size. Auto crop with depend on which of the included software packages you are using to control the scanning operation. It can be configured to auto crop. Q: 1) How fast does the DocuMate 3220 scan in B&W, at 300 dpi, using the flatbed? 2) What size is the flatbed? 3) Does it auto-crop? Asked on 5/18/2012 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: The Xerox Documate 3220 Document Scanner scans at a speed of 23 ppm when set to simplex and 46 imp when set to the duplex setting. These settings are for a scan speed of 200 dpi for black and white scans. There appears to be no setting for 300 dpi. This same speed is available for both black and white and color. The size of the flatbed is 4.9 “h x 12.7” w x 17.8” d and it weighs 8.4 lbs... There is a question on the Q&A page of Staples.com where someone asks about the auto crop feature and it says there is sensor image technology that is used for this feature though it is not mentioned in the specifications. I hope this information helps you. Thanks and have a great day. Answered on 5/19/2012 by Community Answer from None
