This shipped from the store so it was here in one business day. As for assembly, my husband said "given the nature of what it is, a box with four drawers, it was extremely easy to assemble". I saw him use glue and a drill. He said the cam locks were way nicer than the junky but pretty TV stand that we got from [@].For the money we spent, this is a great value. it looks like a piece of furniture, you can see the wood grain. the drawers pull out smoothly, and it's adjustable for both letter and legal files. we're very happy we read the reviews first, because there are some BAD ones out there on other products. I thought i could find something for less than $100 but that was all junk. glad we spent a little extra and got something that should last a while.

The instructions said this takes 50 minutes to assemble. It was more like 8 hours. Granted I am not particularly handy, but I don't think anyone could assemble this in 50 minutes, unless they do that for a living. The unit is very nice looking for the price, stores a lot of files, and is versatile, taking both letter and legal files. The bottoms of the drawers are not weight bearing (which I don't recall seeing disclosed in the specifications), so the unit is limited to the storage of hanging files. The drawers catch a bit. However, despite the various issues, I'm happy I bought it because it has a lot of storage capacity and looks nice.

Didn't realize how heavy it was, or that it is for HANGING files only. It gets the job done though. Have had it for 2 months & doesn't have any scratches yet with 3 kids under 3 yr of age. Great cabinet found in the clearance section. Would buy another.

Nice cabinet once assembled. Takes a while to do this and not enough glue per my husband so we had to use some wood glue we had at home. It is a very nice piece with lots of storage space. I am very please with it.

    A file cabinet that is packaged in a flat box is not high-end office furniture. If you want that, look elsewhere. That being said, this cabinet is priced fairly for what you get. It is mostly pressboard (read heavy) with a paper veneer. It looks fine, just be careful not to scratch it, although you can touch it up with an appropriately colored Sharpy marker. The assembly time took a little over an hour. Instructions were pretty straight forward and all the parts were numbered. As stated in another review, the drawer bottoms are not weight bearing. The drawers are designed for hanging folders only. I did not glue the drawer backs or bottoms in place since I am considering replacing the bottoms with hard-board. I did encounter slightly misaligned holes on one drawer back, so I loosely assembled it to see if it would fit into the slides in the cabinet – no problem. The lock only secures the top drawer and is more of a deterrent that anything else. I can't speak to the long-term durability since I've only had it a few weeks and it is not heavily used, but based on other pieces I have, it should last a long time. If you want a sturdy, good looking and inexpensive file cabinet and are willing to spend a little time putting it together, then this is it.
