I purchased this unit on sale to complete the matching computer Z-Desk. The components are medium duty but the cheap surfaces won't hold up to heavy use. It is an attractive unit but I would want to put heavy items on the shelves as they are not that strong and will sag. The worst part is the connector design. You have to put 16 wood screws into each shelf and my hands were quite sore by the time I finished assembling the unit. You can use an electric screwdrived but have to be careful not to strip the screws out of the pressboard shelves. I have seen similar units from other manufacturers with much better design connector systems for the shelves although at a higher price. I would prefer to pay a higher price and get a better unit next time. Once I finished assembling the unit I decided I would never want to try to take it apart or put another one of these together! Second biggest problem is that the cross braces (small trusss pieces between front and back legs) do not fit tight. This is not a problem structurally BUT they will rattle if your area has any traffic. If the unit is to be on a concrete floor the rattle probably won't be a problem. My opinion is that you would be better off to purchase a better unit at a slightly higher price.

Bought one of these to go along with the matching L-desk (also a good deal). Now I'm getting another one to hold all my computer books. Was pretty easy to assemble, if a bit tedious (i.e. if you have work to do, pay the $7 to have Staples do it for you). But it's sturdy and looks quite sharp.

After purchasing many of the Z-Line Gemini L-Desks for our office, we also purchased the matching Z-Line Gemini Bookcase when it was on sale.

It was very time consuming to put together, but the instructions are easy to follow.

Because the bookcase does not have a back, for us it doubles as a divider between two of our desks. It offers some privacy without breaking up the room, plus it is functional to hold books that our employees can grab from either side of the shelf.

The bookcase is very stylish and sturdy. Very good value.

I have all three pieces, and they are great. Well constructed for sure. However, each of these pieces are DIFFICULT to assemble. In fact, even with two of us, it still look hours to put each one together. LOTS OF ELBOW GREASE needed for these.
