I ordered this desk for my 16 year old daughter's room. [...]. All the pieces are labled well and the istructions were easy and all pictured- very little reading. As a woman I was able to assemble this desk by myself with no help. It took me an hour from start to finish including unpacking, and reading directions/ counting parts. I did not put on the cd rack or the computer keyboard desk as my daughter does not collect cd's (ipod user) or use a keyboard (laptop). The desk is perfectly fine without these pieces and actually gave her more leg room by not having the slide-out. It is a very sturdy desk and it looks great! The desktop has a shiny finish that looks really nice also. For the price, you couldn't ask for a better desk!

This desk is what I'd call the perfect desk for me!
I do a lot of graphic design/web design and so I need a surface to sketch things before putting them together in Photoshop. The glass shelf does great! I can put my external hard drive and cordless phone cradle on top of it and have my external dvd burner beneath it! The keyboard & mouse drawer/slider is at a perfect height for comfort while I sit back and play video games! Great for a dorm room or a bedroom and look GREAT! Would be good for a small office as well.
Things that aren't so great about it, the assembly is VERY hard when you do it by yourself, be careful about the dowel sticks, they can be a little tricky. The only other con I can think of is that the keyboard & mouse slider doesn't slide 100% smoothly, I find it best to push it in from the left corner. Great product, I love it!

This desk is fantastic! We recently purchased this desk because I needed a study space and a place for my laptop. Spreading out my books across the couch with the laptop in my lap and little boys clamboring around and on me just wasn't working anymore. I love this! It's the perfect size, it's super sturdy and it has a great space for my laptop and books. And it's high enough that our little ones can't reach anything on it. My husband and I put it together and it came together very easily. Some of the directions weren't exactly on but we figure out the gaps. My complaints--very minimal, the "drawer" for the keyboard doesn't catch exactly on everytime. But i don't see that as a huge issue, as long as you're not cranking on it to pull it out. And the cd rack, yeah, more for looks. I tried to put a cd in it to see how the rack would hold it, yeah, it didn't. There's nothing for the cd to rest against on the back side so they just don't balance and fall right through. Also, not a big issue. I love the glass shelf in the corner, it's perfect for a lamp and a clock or a drink!! Tsk tsk. I love this desk. It is the perfect desk for a small space in a home office.

I bought this desk yesterday and I assembled it in 1 hour. I love it. Its smooth and has a lot of room to do work on. Its thick and doesnt move easily. The box isnt heavy, compared to others. I love the desk. It has a lot of room to put all my things on it. i recomend this desk very much. I dont regret buying it. very good price too. I LOVE IT!!!! BUYYY ITT!!!

I was a little skeptical at first, what with all the badpress about Chinese manufacturing. This was unfounded as I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the packaging 1)no damage,2)all parts labeled, 3)hardware individually bubble-packaged and labeled {with extra hardware}, directions straightforward. READ THE DIRECTIONS BEFOREHAND, familiarize yourself with the parts, have your tools ready, give yourself adequate workspace and enjoy. 1 hour start to finish. By the way, I read some comments about the CD-rack - put the JEWEL CASE CD's in so that a STRAIGHT side touches the desk side panel, it holds them well, about keyboard tray - some minor adjustments with the screws and then open with your right hand on the right corner and that works fine also. This product is both attractive and economical. PS - my wife was very pleased with her new work station - this keeps her away from my computer- enough said?

I purchased this desk for my daughter for use in her room. She wanted a place she could do her homework without having to clear it off of the kitchen table all the time. It holds all her cd's and provides her with her own space for homework.

I would recommend it for anyone looking for a 'student' desk. It is not overly large either so it would be a nice complement to a dorm room too.
