It's not literally flimsy -- it seems to hold up well enough -- it's just the standard particleboard construction rather than solid wood, which I'd prefer, if I wanted to pay extra for it. I don't expect it to last as long as solid wood would.

My fiance and I use this filing cabinet for regular filing, dvd storage, extra cable storage, and support for out printer and wireless router. It took us about 2 hours to assemble it mainly because the locking nuts were difficult to lock. The pre-drilled holes were a little too deep and we initially pushed it in too far. After playing around with it for a while, we got it to turn. After that, it was smooth sailing.

The oak is slightly darker than portrayed in the picture. It works very well with the rest of the wood furniture in our living room. For under $200, it's definitely a great buy. We've had it for about a week. Lets see how long it lasts...

Although I use this in my home office I also use it for Church files. In setting up a home office I had several problems such as a room with all windows and no place to put regular upright file cabinets. this file cabinet not only satisfied that problem but was so beautiful and so functional that I went back and got a second one. They add a great deal to the functionality of my office as well as the overall attractiveness.
