THIS FILE CABINET IS AN ATTRACTIVE PIECE OF FURNITURE. I DO LIKE THE WAY I AM ABLE TO ORGANIZE MY FILES. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THE DRAWER BOTTOMS, THEY ARE MADE OF NOTHING MORE THAN THICK CARDBOARD. YOU CAN ONLY USE HANGING FILE FOLDERS IN THIS FILE CABINET, BECAUSE THE BOTTOM OF THE DRAWERS CANNOT TAKE MUCH WEIGHT.

Nice outside, but deficient inside

This product is not designed for professional office use. Ok for home use. Dimension, from front to back, is too narrow; seriously reduces volume of available file storage space. File hangers in top drawer are positioned too low; files drag on drawer bottom. Drawer bottoms are cheap cardboard and cannot support much weight.

Assembly took about 2 hours, but everything fit together precisely. Instructions very clear, everything labeled nicely. Suggest having extra glue on hand and gluing all joints for durability as I did. Turned out very nice for the price.

This file cabinet is adequate for my use -- just to file recipes, bills, and other items for which security is not an issue. It looks a lot nicer than a metal file cabinet. I would not have bought this if security were an issue because with the locking device on the far right side, it would not be hard to break into this file cabinet. If the locking device were in the middle, it would be much more secure. I also like the fact that Staples put it on sale the week after we purchased ours, so we got even a better buy.

I'm very happy with this purchase. Very sturdy design, seems durable and the color is exacly as pictured. I gave it four stars because it took a while to put together and because only one of the drawers is lockable.
