I read the review below where the guy said his complaint was that there are no speaker holes.  Zagg responded and strangely just apologized and said they'd look into redesigning it just because one guy overlooked the actual speaker holes? Maybe I have super sharp vision,  but anyone who owns this product (or CREATED IT lol) can examine under the home button when the iPad is placed inside.  There are TWO CHANNELS (tunnels) above and below the home button that redirect the sound from behind to the front.  Look at the right border of the case area and you'll see it.  Just like there's a hole on the left side for the microphone. Even weirder, despite complaints, is I found that this design IMPROVED the sound because the iPad Air's speaker design is not so great.  Especially coming from the iPad 4 where the speakers were powerful and had great fidelity and a surround sound effect.  Sound was directed AT you whereas the iPad Air just leaks sound out from the bottom.  The Zagg design redirects the sound forward so it's much easier to hear and seems much louder. Now for my real issues with this case.  Mine seems to have a defect where the Caps lock button indicator light doesn't come on.  The manual claims there is supposed to be a blue light that comes on,  but I unfortunately never see it.  I thought maybe I had a setting turned off but the manual doesn't say anything about that so I'm guessing the LED is dead on mine?  If Zagg can confirm that would be great. The only other thing is that the case area doesn't seem to fit the iPad snugly on the top portion.  I notice the top left and right corners of the iPad in landscape mode are popping out of the case.  It could be since the material is very thin that mine was warped to where it's wanting to pull back and only the middle "clip" area is holding it in.  I'd imagine the rate that this happens would be high since the plastic is very thin,  and the only area that actually holds the tablet in is the tiny clipped area on the middle of the top portion.  But they did this so it would be easy to remove the iPad I guess. (which it is) When I close the device it feels great in your hands and has a nice feel when it snaps shut.  It feels secure and solid.  The hinge feels solid and keeps the position you set.  I'm hopeful that the hinge won't wear out over time since the iPad Air is SO light there's not much strain on it.  I love the sleep/wake feature and the keyboard comes out of hiberation almost instantly.  No time to wait for it to reconnect if you leave it idle for too long. It's easy to remove the iPad from the case so not sure why people are complaining about this.  Although a tablet mode would of been cool you would STILL have to remove the iPad from the hinge and then flip it around.  So it doesn't make it any easier than just removing the iPad altogether.  If you want that feature you can simply buy the standalone keyboard cover version.  Which I was debating whether to wait for,  but figured not protecting the back of the iPad is a big mistake.  Unless showing off the words "iPad" to strangers is important to you (and more important to theives). The backlit keys in different colors is a very cool feature.  I love changing it every so often to suit my mood.  There's plenty of function keys to do what you need to do and the keys have a nice feel to them.  They aren't too clicky and yet not to mushy either.  They feel solid and every letter you type feels important.  I typed this entire review on the keyboard as a matter of fact!   My only other issue is with iOS and not really keyboards.  Apple seems to not have put real keyboard & mouse support and so the arrow keys never scroll up and down on webpages like other devices do.  I'm wondering if a keyboard maker could actually make this happen or if it's all Apple's fault.  It's quite annoying when every other keyboard in the world that isn't for Apple devices can scroll with arrow keys,  but not the iPad. Anyway, definitely the best iPad Air keyboard case available at the moment.  Despite my critical review...I'm really loving the keyboard.  The other cases out there force you to pull the iPad forward into a slot and don't offer multiple viewing angles.  Plus you get multi-color backlit keys to boot.  So if you need a keyboard case THIS IS THE ONE TO GET at this very moment even after the recently announced ones.

I've been using the Zagg Keyboard Folio for my IPad 2 and I absolutely love. So when I switched to the IPad Air, I decided to give this keyboard folio a try. It's definitely lighter and the bluetooth compatibility works great. But there are some glitches that Zagg might want to consider improving. First is the case cover, unlike the Folio for the IPad 2, this one doesn't have the curved edge slots to hold the Ipad securely inside the cover. The only thing that is stopping the Ipad Air from falling out is the top of the cover where the device snaps in...and that is still not secure enough, and the hinge at the bottom. In addition, the device doesn't sit snugly inside the cover, especially where the volume and power switch buttons are located. You can actually move the device back and forth inside the cover. 2nd glitch. There should be a gap between the hinge and the device. I had the Zagg screen protector placed on my device because I like to protect my screen. It is a good thing, I spent that money for the protector, because when I opened my folio today, there was a big bubble on my protector, exactly where the device comes into contact with the hinge. I'm afraid to think what would have happened to the glass on my device, if I didn't have the screen protector on my device. Now I have a ruined Zagg protector...or at least where the big bubble is, but for now the glass screen is still intact. If Zagg makes the necessary improvements, are we eligible to replace our current one with that one?

My little laptop

Comments about ZAGG Folio iPad Air Keyboard Case:

I told my husband I wanted something more than a cover to go with my ipad air. I wanted a keyboard. He bought me the black Zagg folio, and I use it with the ipad like a laptop. In fact wherever I take it, on the plane or to a meeting, people have come to me and asked where I got such a small, slim laptop.

I-pad Air Folio Review

By Texas Lady

from Cary, NC

Comments about ZAGG Folio iPad Air Keyboard Case:

The hard shell case provides excellent protection for the i-pad Air. The backlit keyboard is my favorite part of the folio. When flying at night, I can see the the light is keys and the light is not bright enough to disturb the passenger beside me. People often ask what kind of notebook computer I'm using, which indicates that the folio disguises my i-pad and makes it less likely to be stolen.
