I love that this mechanical pencil is made out of metal. It is sturdy and durable. I also like how it is slim and easy to hold. I have tried many other mechanical pencils but find this to be my famorite. I bought one for each of my college students and they all agree. I also like the Zebra pens.

  The recommended refills for this pencil are the same hardness as a number 2 pencil. The HB listing is the hardness and matches the #2.

  Pull off the silver top covering the eraser - then gently remove the eraser itself (not the white plastic at the base of the eraser) - then just drop your new leads into the pencil.

  just spoke with my Staples sales representative because i needed refills too. Apparently the distributor's number is zeb83211 and I had to special order it because it isn't listed on the Staples website. Staples'item number is 400630. They come 79 cents a piece. hope this helps!

  They currently sell the eraser refills, all you have to do is look around where they sell the lead refills and such. I believe they retail for $1 for a pack, which has five erasers
