Zoom modem the best

When the Comcast service man advised me that we could buy and install our own modem,thereby reducing our monthly rental cost by $7.00/month I shopped for a good replacement and Staples had the perfect modem. The computer accepted "Zoom" with no problem and I required no assistance from Comcast in the changeover. I am extremely pleased.

Always a fan of Zoom and always had good luck with them going back to the external dial up modem days. However the 5341 didn't live up to my expectations. Unit was bad right out of the box. Plus unit gets extremely hot. Tech support non-existent after 5 PM- that was really disappointing.

WAS PRICED AT SAME PRICE WITH 3.0 RATING AS THE 2.0 RATINGS I WAS LOOKING AT, USED ON COMCAST TO REPLACE AN OLD 1.0 ONE THAT HAD HAD FOREVER AND AS PER COMCAST WAS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE COMCAST SOFTWARE, NEEDED TO UPDATE, THIS UNIT FILLED THE BILL FOR ME AND SO FAR NO PROBLEMS.
