Zoom modem the best

When the Comcast service man advised me that we could buy and install our own modem,thereby reducing our monthly rental cost by $7.00/month I shopped for a good replacement and Staples had the perfect modem. The computer accepted "Zoom" with no problem and I required no assistance from Comcast in the changeover. I am extremely pleased.

When it works it is nice and very fast. If your connection is on for more then 36 hours it seems to degrade your connection to a very slow speed until you reset your computer...Read complete review

When it works it is nice and very fast. If your connection is on for more then 36 hours it seems to degrade your connection to a very slow speed until you reset your computer or modem. I called Cox and they recommended the Motorola. I don't know if only I'm having this problem or this is a problem with the modem I bought. It does support 8 bonded download channels, but Cox only supports 4 bonded download channels. It was a nice modem... just wasn't reliable without having to constantly restart something every couple of days.

Wanted to get Comcast BLAST performance. Had a Cisco router before and it kept failing and limiting down speed. The Zoom just works. Can get it cheaper on-line but Staples had it in stock locally.

Nice choice for me. I am a Comcast use and had my doubts on which modem to purchase compared to the reviews out there. This was one of Comcast recommended modems for the type of package I had with them. I must admit, set up right out of the box was fast and easy. Removed the old one and was able to replace it with the new one in the exact same way I had removed the old one. Plugged in, turned on, and let it run its analysis and presto, it was completed. Start to finish didn't take 20 minutes max. So far so good. I am pleased.

Great product. Set up was a breeze. I am with Comcast, and you never know if what they recommend will actually be easy or not, and reading some reviews I was torn between two different products. Chose this one and am so glad I did. Installation could have not been any simpler. Replaced an old modem with the exact same set up as this one, same wiring and all and followed the steps on the comcast set up page and with in say 20 minutes, start to finish, I was done. I would highly recommend this item for business or persoanl.

Just follow the directions and you'll be done in no time. I was brave and chose the install with router option instead of do the modem and add the router. The hard part was asking the cable company about things first. Don't bother, just fire up the new modem and it automatically goes to the cable company's web site to finish the install. This guy will pay for itself in about a year...too bad I already paid about $400 to rent my old cable modem.

Got tired of paying rent on the modem we had for years. This one is compatible with the service provider. We have maximum speed with the extra gaming provision and surprisingly this modem seems to have added a tad more speed to that. When I saw the prices overall, I shuttered. The price on this was great in my book. Additionally, we have a phone router connected to it. We're very happy.
